Holidays in Greece
Public holidays in Greece are listed in Law No. 1157/1981 and Regulation (EEC, Euratom) No. 1182/71 of 3 June 1971. A day is considered a public holiday if no business is transacted on it. Therefore days off are irrelevant for certain professional groups or services. There are national, religious and other holidays, including local or temporary holidays. Public holidays are non-working days for government agencies. In Greece there are 13 public holidays that apply throughout the country.
