Biomes

A biome is a large geographical area of distinctive plant and animal groups, which are adapted to that particular environment. Biomes are often defined by factors such as climate, vegetation, and geography. There are several major types of biomes found across the world, each with its own unique characteristics and species.

Tundras

Tundras are one of the coldest and harshest biomes on Earth. They are characterized by low temperatures, short growing seasons, and a layer of permanently frozen subsoil known as permafrost. Tundras are found in the Arctic and Antarctic regions, as well as at high altitudes in mountain ranges.

Arctic Tundra

The Arctic tundra is located in the Northern Hemisphere, surrounding the North Pole. It is a vast expanse of treeless plains, characterized by cold temperatures and strong winds. The Arctic tundra is home to a variety of plant and animal species that have adapted to the harsh conditions, such as reindeer, arctic foxes, and polar bears.

Antarctic Tundra

Despite the harsh conditions, the Antarctic tundra is home to unique wildlife such as penguins, seals, and seabirds.
